LA Unified school board members are hammering it out behind closed doors today, looking both at superintendent John Deasy’s performance and his contract.
A source close to school board disputed the significance of a news report from Los Angeles Times reporter Howard Blume that provided details of an offer from Deasy last week to resign. The source said the report was based on “old document.” The source told LA School Report that nothing has been finalized and it “could be a long day.” The Times reported Deasy has offered to “resign his post” and would leave early next year. It was based on a document leaked to reporters waiting at LAUSD headquarters as the board continued meeting with Deasy.
Stay tuned.
