Why should you care about Rhee? Her Sacramento-based organization, StudentsFirst, was involved in Ian Calderon’s successful state assembly primary race and Brian Johnson’s unsuccessful one, as well as various rumored LIFO-ending proposals. There’s more of that to come, no doubt.

The organization also just hired a new California communications person, Erin Shaw, who has previously worked for State Senator Sam Blakeslee, Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado, and Governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gray Davis.
