Mayor Eric Garcetti today announced the appointment of Rick Jacobs as his administration’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations.
Jacobs, a political operative who runs the California grassroots advocacy organization, Courage Campaign, will oversee the Mayor’s communications, external affairs, scheduling, protocol and strategic partnership, according to a press release issued by City Hall.
In April, Jacobs joined forces with the former California director of the Obama campaign, Mary Jane Stevenson, to form a super PAC for Garcetti that raised and spent more than $2 million dollars according to the City Ethics website.
We’ll let you know when we hear if education will be part of his portfolio.
