United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) announced in the latest edition of its weekly newsletter that it plans to mail out surveys next week that give UTLA members the opportunity to grade LAUSD Superintendent John Deasy’s performance.

It’s common knowledge that UTLA’s leadership, including union President Warren Fletcher, has often been critical of Deasy’s policies and decisions.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see what questions it asks its rank-and-file members, what kind of a response it gets for its efforts, and what classroom teachers in the district think of how Deasy has been doing his job so far.

UTLA expects to announce the results of the survey in mid-February. Stay tuned.
