San Francisco Unified School District has received a threat similar to ones received earlier this week in Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere, but investigators have determined it is not credible and the city’s schools remain open, school district officials said today.

On Monday, a threat of violence prompted the closure of all schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District for the day. A similar threat was received in New York, but schools there did not close after investigators deemed it non-credible.

SFUSD officials said after they received a similar threat, district and city officials “immediately conducted facilities inspections and coordinated with local and federal agencies to determine whether or not there was a risk to the safety of students and staff.”

All campuses have been inspected and nothing suspicious was found, so the district and its schools remain open today, district officials said.
