parent-trigger1Earlier today, LA-based nonprofit Parent Revolution announced that it was launching a new site, Truth in Education Reform, with the stated aim of “ferreting out and debunking the conspiracy theories and provable lies… that collectively threaten to overcome sensible debate on education policy and ed reform.”

The site’s initial focus will be on attempting to debunk claims made by NYU education historian Diane Ravitch, who earlier this month quasi-apologized for calling Parent Revolution head Ben Austin “loathsome” and on Friday penned another critique of the parent trigger (which as of this afternoon has already attracted 60+ comments).

More immediately, Parent Revolution says it supports several elements of Board member Steve Zimmer’s resolution to improve the transparency of the parent petition process, scheduled for debate at tomorrow’s Board meeting – but insists that LAUSD must continue to follow the state law as it was passed and implemented by state regulators.
