Whatever the harassment issues he faced, LA Unified’s Board President Richard Vladovic still has UTLA support, thanks to his public acknowledgement of his bad behavior.
“UTLA welcomes the fact Dr. Vladovic has addressed this head-on and will continue the important work of Board President,” said a post on the union’s Facebook page.
In his brief remarks after a closed door board meeting on Tuesday, Vladovic alluded to his past in general, saying, “I did get upset at people. I did tell them things I shouldn’t have told them.” He promised, “I intend to never do it again.”
Left unaddressed were the specific allegations in two cases released by district officials the night before, one involving multiple claims of sexual harassment. Nor did UTLA mention them in its Facebook message.
